When a protector turns provocateur
Everything that makes LL-37 a good defender, membrane activity, immune recruitment, nucleic-acid binding, can turn against the host. In psoriasis it helps convert self-DNA into an inflammatory alarm; in other autoimmune and vascular conditions it appears as an antigen or amplifier; and in cancer it is genuinely double-edged, suppressing some tumors while promoting others.
This unit is the honest counterweight to the benefits units. It maps where LL-37 drives disease, why the same peptide can protect and harm, and why any blanket "good" or "bad" verdict misreads the biology.
