Three residues, one fragile molecule, and the chemistry that fixes it
KPV has no folded structure and no metal cofactor, so its chemistry is all about the backbone, the charges, and stability. This unit looks at how the three residues sit together, why an unmodified tripeptide degrades in water, and the analog chemistry, amidation, cyclization, the KdPT swap, built to make it last.
Understanding the fragility is the key to the rest of the course: nearly every modern KPV delivery system exists because plain KPV does not survive the gut on its own.
