withdrawal, pain, antioxidant -- reading the evidence honestly

the largest DSIP dataset -- and its limits

Beyond sleep and stress hormones, DSIP has been studied in alcohol and opiate withdrawal, pain management, and antioxidant protection. The withdrawal cohort (n=107 inpatients, Dick 1984) is the largest human DSIP dataset, but it falls short of modern RCT standards. The pain data is contradictory between studies. The antioxidant findings are real but almost entirely from rodent models from specific research groups, with limited independent replication outside that body of work.
