Reading the evidence honestly

An unusually deep preclinical story with an unusually shallow clinical base

This capstone unit is about the skill the whole course has been building toward: weighing a literature where the volume of evidence and the strength of evidence point in different directions. BPC-157 has thirty years of mechanism and rat-model work, and almost nothing at the level that should change a human decision.

You will place the field on an evidence hierarchy, map the specific translational gaps, walk a confidence-labeling decision tree, and finish by grading the headline claims yourself. The goal is a portable habit: never let the depth of a preclinical story stand in for the human result it does not yet have.
