sleep research
what the human trials actually showed
two small trials, a big question about what they mean
DSIP's best human evidence comes from two small placebo-controlled sleep trials, both led by Schneider-Helmert in Switzerland. They showed real effects -- increased sleep pressure, normalized sleep architecture -- but both were conducted before modern polysomnography standards, in very small samples, using intravenous delivery that is impractical for most people. Understanding what these trials actually measured, and what the paradoxical 1994 finding means, is the most important task in reading DSIP research honestly.
